Bellingham
Peace Camp
November 21-25, 2001
During Thanksgiving weekend residents of Bellingham camped-out downtown to draw attention to the suffering of the Afghani people. Our goal was to raise awareness about the effects of the bombing on Afghanistan and the situation in the refugee camps. In addition we raised money that was donated to UNICEF and Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), two relief agencies that are supplying humanitarian aid in the region.
Thanks to all those that helped and to the MSF office for their assistance. The action was covered by the Bellingham Herald and Indymedia.
